Physiology

About Department

“The physiology of today is the medicine of tomorrow”.
Ernest Henry Starling (English Physiologist)
(17 April 1866 – 2 May 1927).
Mankind is considered as the most beautiful creation of God. The discipline of Human Physiology not only explains the mechanisms that keep this creation alive but also explores new ways to maintain or improve the quality of life. From functions to dysfunction, drug preparation to drug prescription, disease prevention to disease treatment, all need a thorough clarity of basic concepts in Physiology. Over the years, the domain of Human Physiology has progressed from a mere didactic pedagogy to encompass various clinical investigations like ECG, EEG, EMG, Evoked Potentials, Spirometry, Autonomic Function tests, etc. The main objective of our department is to provide all such facilities and opportunities and also to train the next generation of medical professionals using the best faculty and equipment available. The department is currently headed by Dr. Jyoti Sethi, alumni of the prestigious Pt. B. D. Sharma P.G.I.M.S. Rohtak (Haryana). She has a vast amount of teaching and research experience in the subject and is also the present secretary of The Association of Physiologists Of Haryana (APOH).
