About Department

The broad goal of the teaching of undergraduate students in Surgery is to produce graduates capable of delivering efficient first contact surgical care.

The emphasis is on imparting extensive training to the students not only through the didactic lectures but also by practical demonstration and skill development for their benefit.

Further plans includes upgrading the existing facilities for minimal access surgeries, oncosurgery and surgical super- specialties.

Facilities

The Department of Surgery is vibrant and offers a comprehensive treatment in all surgical illnesses in elective as well as in emergency situations. Laparoscopic and minimal access surgeries are being routinely performed in the department.
